So, the title says it all — but I just had to come here to share my excitement! I have induced a few times over the last three years or so, though to be fair I never fully dried up after the first time even when taking long breaks. Still, I had not managed to be focused enough to get to the point where I was producing enough milk to have it fall into the bottle when pumping, despite my best efforts. Today, that changed. I had a longer than usual gap between pumps while finishing a road trip, and even though I didn’t get any drops in my Spectra this morning before leaving home, my first session with my Momcozy wearables after arriving this evening resulted in a small pool of milk in the collection cup on each side, more than a few drops but not really measurable. Still, I simply could not believe it! — after getting so close to this point maybe three times in the past, I just thought I was destined to never produce enough to collect. It was a challenging day in some ways but actually seeing milk in my pump was seriously one of the best feelings ever, and I am so proud of my body right now.

Incidentally, even if I did not have this good news to share, I was going to post about how inducing this time around has helped me to work through some body insecurity. My left boob is about one cup size smaller than my right, and I have long felt insecure about its shape. But since inducing, I have been so impressed by lil’ leftie! In terms of milk production, she is far outpacing a certain slacker on the right side 😅 In any case, seeing my left boob respond to inducing this way has reminded me of how amazing and powerful my body really is, even the parts that have made me feel uncomfortable in the past. I feel like a goddess and more at home in my body than I ever have felt before.

For the record: 36 years old, never been pregnant, 80mg dom daily (2 x 40mg), have been pumping 4-8 times a day for about three weeks.
