Sensations during pumping
Post Body

Where does everybody experience the feelings during pumping? I was using my correct size flange on my spectra and experienced the tingling/vibration sensation around the areola and base of my nipples - more in the breast, nothing felt in my nipples. I think I have elastic nipples so I have just switched to silicone inserts. Now I feel the tingling around the tips of my nipples and the nipples themselves.

I read elastic nipples in the wrong flange can actually block milk ducts and inhibit flow. I often felt like the sensations weren’t getting deep enough into my breast, I thought this was because I have big boobs and the flange cups are just small so don’t cover a lot of my breast area. But with the silicone inserts, it does feel like the sensations are getting deeper into my breast.

Is this how pumping should feel when it’s effective?
