(Maybe) specific to the UK - Do you sometimes get the impression nobody is genuine on the seeking side of Reddit?

Lost count of the number of conversations I’ve had with people who ghost or aren’t serious or who turn out to be misrepresenting who they are (like, majorly).

I found out this week that someone I talked to easily two years ago was actually just fantasising and using a fake picture and THAT’S why they disappeared one morning, not because of the reason they briefly gave before deleting.

I actually now feel better about how that went but it’s frustrating when I think how confused I was at the time.

Is ABF a space that more than most lends itself to cranks?
