Today I am 6 weeks and 6 days into my inducing lactation journey! I've noticed the typically expected changes. Breast heaviness and soreness has been a daily occurrence. I've been more moody lately too. When I pump I feel exhausted, relaxed, and depressed all at once. However, that could be from tapering off my antidepressant medication.
I started this journey as a sort of science experiment on myself. It's not really practical for me to produce larger amounts of milk right now. My soft goal is just to be able to fill a shot glass. I wanted to see if I could naturally induce lactation without taking domperidone. I have considered ordering dom lately though. For now it's in the back of my mind.
I've started working again. I'm seriously considering a TENS unit if I keep working/school in-person. Even if I'm super busy, I get a minimum of three 20 minute pumps in daily. One week ago I started implementing 1 power pump session every day as well.
I haven't been keeping up with my oats but I'm working on it! π I've been trying to incorporate oats in smoothies, pancakes, protein bars/balls. I have been making a spinach loaded pasta with nutritional yeast which has been a nice meal prep.
Just playing the pumping and waiting game for now. If anyone has had success inducing without domperidone, I'd love to hear about your experience! βΊοΈ
