Has anyone here sued the adoption agency who placed them for negligence? I contacted a few lawyers and have heard back from one who said yes it's possible, but she personally didn't have the bandwidth to do it. I'm not looking for money but policy change/the agency to be shut down. They were shockingly negligent in placing me. My adoptive mother was terminally ill and died shortly after I was born; they didn't bother doing any checks on their health. My adoptive father has brain damage from playing football that made him extremely volatile and abusive, so there's absolutely no way they did any psychological screening. My adoptive grandfather wrote letters to the agency warning them they were wildly unfit and begged them under no circumstances to give them a baby; they completely ignored the letter. There's no way they did a home visit because they're neo-Nazis. I don't think they ever checked to see that they'd actually been around or knew anything about children; it didn't occur to my dad that he'd need to do stuff like feed me. I have memories of being left alone at home and eating raw hot dogs out of the fridge. I was 3. It didn't occur to him to brush my hair so they had to cut it all off because it got so matted. These people were absolutely not qualified, and the agency was warned on writing that they were unqualified. Then they did absolutely no vetting; I'm not convinced they even met these people. I'm furious and I want them closed down. It's terrifying to think of how many other children they did this to. Has anyone here attempted this?
