I (37/F) connected to her niece(A) on Ancestry DNA last month and communicated with her for a while before contacting my bio mom(J). It turns out J lives about and hour and a half away from me. At first I was reluctant to rush into meeting her, but then I realized that I didn’t want to have important conversations electronically. So we’re meeting for lunch. I’m cautiously optimistic.
For those who have met their bio parents, is there anything you wish you had or hadn’t done or said? I have no negative feeling towards her. She seems to be excited too. I’m trying to prepare myself for the possibility that our personalities don’t match, but I’m hoping that this will be a positive relationship. I have an appointment with my therapist tomorrow, but I was hoping for some feedback from people who have been through this. Thanks!
