Am I missing something, or do we actually HAVE to suffer pointlessly?

When I type some text in Photoshop, Premiere, or even AE, all I need to do to change the font size is click the font size value and drag left/right to increase/decrease.
It doesn't work in Illustrator and you either have to type the font value, or click frantically the damn arrows like a cookie clicker idle game to change the value?
Did I miss a setting or is Adobe just trolling us?
