Itinerary help (high peaks ish) for a three day trip in August!
Post Body

Hi Folks,

Lovely subreddit you have here, hoping some kind strangers will indulge me with a little bit of your superior knowledge. I am coming up with my girlfriend and our well behaved dog for three weekdays during the second week of August. I am hoping for some help on a couple of things:

  1. Your favorite dog friendly trails... My dog has climbed most of the 4000 footers in the White Mountains and can handle some tough scrambles; I'm less confident about how he'll do on ladders which it seems we're more likely to encounter in the Adirondacks. I also understand there are some tight rules on where the dog can and can't be but I'm having trouble figuring it out on my trail map. I'm a responsible dog owner and understand and plan to respect the rules of the area; interested in challenging but safe peaks as well as fun water features.
  2. Drive up primitive camp sites... I'm hoping since we are coming on weekdays and will be arriving relatively early that we'll be able to find some good spots that we can post up at for our three nights (I understand this is the limit without a permit) Any great spots you'd recommend that would be a good jumping off point for peaks/waterfalls?
  3. Anything else I should know/be doing?

Thanks!
