Hey all, making my first trip to the Adirondacks for two days this coming week. A Boston native so most of my hiking is spent in NH but am very fit and have put a lot of time on my legs. About my fitness level: Crushed Katahdin, do 8-12 mile hikes regularly, once regularly put 70 mile weeks of running on my legs and still get out regularly. Looking to find good hikes that don't require an overnight camp since I'll be staying in Lake Placid and trying to see the town a bit. For Adirondack regulars, what would be two must-do hikes in the 6 to 12.5 mile range that someone who doesn't get out here very often must do? Just looking for some great views, up for any challenge level, and looking to see what makes this area special.
