Superior Fire patterns and Ever Vigilant strat interaction
Post Body

Is this a valid combination? Scenario:

A Deathwing blob comes out of Deepstrike and I pop Ever Vigilant (Auspex scan but with -1 to hit blob), and superior Fire patterns of top of it on the Venetari blob (ofc with the right conditions in mind).

Ever Vigilant:

For 2CP, use this strat after your opponent has set up a unit that has come on to the field as reinforcements within 12″. You can shoot at them as if it was the Shooting phase with a -1 to hit.

Superior Fire Patterns:

Use this stratagem in the Shooting phase, when an Adeptus Custodes INFANTRY unit from your army that did not advance in your previous Movement phase is chosen to shoot with. Until the end of the phase, models in that unit make double the number of attacks with Rapid Fire and Pistol weapons.

So Ever Vigilant can fire as it it were the shooting phase, so by that logic, I could use that in conjunction with Superior Fire Patterns to absolutely obliterate a unit deepstriking because I technically would be in the shooting phase for that instance of attack?
