Just curious what everyone's reason for playing/collecting this Fabolous faction where?

Mine are pretty straight forward:

1) initially when the models came out i loved them, the aesthetic etc.

2) i always have preferred close combat armies (used to play blood angels), so Custodes were a prime choice.

3) im lazy. i used to play Blood angels and guard - painting hundreds of infantry is mind numbing to me. However worst of all was going to games and carrying 500 models... and then micro managing said 500 models in the game. ughh. Tiresome.

on the flip side, i realized custodes, takes me no time at all to paint 500 pts.

when i go play a game, i take 15 models with me.

When i play the game i have like 15 models to micro manage.

4) i have a 40k addiction and colelcting SM was making me broke trying to buy every new cool unit that came out. Sticking to custodes is a lot easier on my bank (even considering its now over $100 for 3 FW terminators...)
