Thoughts on legalising a cannabis industry?

Have long thought about this issue and see great potential benefits for our state through legislating the legalisation of cannabis - I'm interested in local thoughts and opinions. I recognise we live in what I feel like is a moderately conservative state - now, anyway - and a lot would have to shift to bring this issue into a broader public consciousness, let along having MP's (aside from Greens) push the agenda. Below is an article which I thought was a very interesting read about the subject:
