Internet alternatives in Adelaide?
Post Body

Hello r/Adelaide!

Grew up in Adelaide, moved to QLD for ~4 years, moved back here a couple months ago.

Coming back has been reasonably smooth for the most part - good to be back! - but getting internet hooked up has been rather underwhelming.

Super summarised:

  • Renting a unit in Oaklands Park
  • ADSL2 is connected, but extremely slow and unstable
  • NuSkope is not an option due to trees (even with the 4m mast extension)
  • HFC is in the street, but from what I've read Telstra is unlikely to connect an address to their Cable network, esp if it is a unit

The ADSL connection is bad enough that I'm considering Optus' 4G Home Broadband, but with my development/music production workflows I'd blow that very quickly.

I think I've essentially exhausted all the viable connection means, but perhaps there are other options I've not considered?
