Drug addiction
Post Body

Before I start, I apologize for this being long. Iā€™m giving as much detail as I can in hopes of someone giving me advice and helping herā€¦ so thank you In advance.

So with that being said, Iā€™m hoping someone can give advice or lead in the right direction. My best friend has a problem when it comes to coke. I donā€™t know whether to call it a drug addiction or just a problem. Sheā€™s been doing it since the beginning of the year due to multiple reasons (trauma, depression, mental health issues, family abuse, ptsd from an incident that happened a year agoā€¦etc.) you get the idea. With that being said. Itā€™s been an ongoing problem. Thereā€™s times where she doesnā€™t do it every day or just every other day & the longest sheā€™s been clean off it was a week (at one time). Now, sheā€™s back in the cycle of doing it every day. Sheā€™s doing it to get high, but she says it the only thing that makes her somewhat feel better. It helps her get through the day and doing the daily responsibilities she needs to get done (work, clean, and not to mention taking care of a toddler). If she doesnā€™t have coke sheā€™s like a zombie, always tired and just unmotivated and not productive. Recently, she didnā€™t do any and didnā€™t leave her room for two days. I know she WANTS to get clean but I donā€™t think she is 100% ready. She tells me how draining it is to blow so much money all the time, always relying on something to get her through her days. She explains how she is ā€œembarrassed and feels patheticā€ she was considering rehab but has a lot of fears.. fears as in having her job find out why she is taking disability or FMLA (which will be unpaid). She doesnā€™t want her boss to know she is going into rehab. She loves her job, and she feels that if she goes she would want to find a new job and start over because she doesnā€™t want to deal with the embarrassment of them knowing she is struggling with this. Sheā€™s worried that she will have no source of income and not be able to pay her bills or car payment. She knows her car will get repoed. She isnā€™t necessarily in the good financial standing or have good credit to be able to get another car. Sheā€™s worried about needing to find another job that fits with her lifestyle. And again, not to mention she has a young child (toddler) and pets. She doesnā€™t want to lose him or have any legal matter when it comes to him or feel like she needs to constantly be watched when she does get clean. Sheā€™s honestly just lost, upset, and depressed thatā€™s itā€™s gotten to this point. I feel so bad and I just donā€™t know what I can do to help? Does anyone have any kind of advice or just anything that could lead me in the right direction? Or anything to ease her fears?
