I’m going through it really bad right now. I’ve been on Adderall 30 mg XR & 5 mg for 12 years and I’ve been having issues getting it filled. I’ve called every pharmacy my psychiatrist has (and hasn’t) recommended but I get the same answer: it’s the shortage, I can’t order it, I don’t know when it’ll be here, etc. I was lucky for so long not to be impacted, but now that’s not the case.
I had no choice but to go cold turkey and it’s been about 10 days. First few days was the fatigue which I could fight through, but now I’m getting more physical symptoms. I’ve never had appetite issues while on Adderall, and coming off it has stayed normal so far. However, any time I eat it causes AWFUL stomach cramps, nausea, and diarrhea. I have to eat in order to take other meds I’m prescribed, so it’s like a vicious cycle of gastrointestinal hell. I’m trying to stay hydrated and take pepto when it’s really bad, but I’m so miserable.
Have any of you gone through this? Please tell me I’m not alone because this is awful. Tbh, I don’t want to go back on Adderall if this is what coming off it is like. Any suggestions on how to manage physical withdrawal symptoms? Any advice is greatly appreciated!!
