not connecting

I haven't been able to connect for about the last hour. Everything seems normal, at first, during loading. But then, the screen goes dim, the hour glass stops spinning. Idk, some sort of semi- , quasi-, or pseudo- frozen state. But if I push the back key, the screen lights back up, the hourglass spins away. And then, the screen goes dim again et. al. After a few times of this, I get an authentication playfab ID unknown error.
