What's with the online discourse over "historically accurate" usage of lesbian terminology?
Post Body
Is there any basis to people's claims that such and such term historically meant something in particular and people are misusing it today? So much of our history is undocumented and it feels like these claims are baseless at best, and ignoring the history that is documented at worst. Even if that's the case, why try to tell someone how to define themselves? Language changes, "literally" has become synonymous with figuratively. I really just do not get this discourse.
