Hey guys, I just completed and recorded my full run through Madness 14 and figured I'd share the videos and some details on the team I ran. First of all, here's the videos per act:
Act 1 Intro: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QTejbTNoQfE
Act 2: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XSVVrKFAmng
Act 3: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Zc15UnhHK0
Act 4: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rGAlvPNQsZQ
The run was base madness 7 all corruptors except restricted power, bringing me to madness 14/16. I didn't have base madness 8 unlocked (at the time), and I chose to leave off restricted power corruptor due to fear of damage not being high enough by the end boss with aura caps, but in hindsight I could have left that on and still won I think.
The overall build was focused around spark, with the core build defining item being the Charged Trident from the swamp (guaranteed item, so safe to build around). Here's the team members and their basic build and role:
Magnus
Classic Magnus, built for speed and blocking. He had the 1 vulnerability charge talent, though other than a single copy of sunder armor (for act bosses) he didn't really add any cards that gave vuln or slow. He was all in for blocking with things like barricade and guard (for fortify). Also had the typical stuff like helping hands. He picked up the Nullifier from Golem twins in act 4, which let him remove the sunder for the final fight.
Wilbur
Full support build, with the Voltaic Arc talent. This let spark hit the primary target (for our main dps Evelyn), but Wilbur spent his turns doing things like transmission, scroll/tome of intellect, dark ritual, etc. Just lots of inspire and energize for the party, with a few misc cards that helped build spark faster. He picked up a corrupted spark nova during the run, and would sometimes pass that over to Evelyn with his special twin scroll card because Evelyn had terrible luck on card finds the whole run.
Malukah
Classic healer build, which she excels at. Lots of healing, dispel, regen, vitality, and bless. She kept the team going, and from the Golem twins she picked up a corrupted Destiny, which let her do absolute silliness like casting both Sacred Ceremony and Sanctuary every turn for free, leading to massive bless/vitality stacking for the final fight.
Evelyn
Primary damage dealer that picked up Charged Trident in the second act. All of her damage was converted to lightning and applied wet per hit (and poison due to the polluter item). She used things like superconductor and winter orb (converted) to stack huge spark and wet which brought every monster to -95% lightning resist after a turn or two. There were a few spark immune enemies that slowed us down (primarily the spark immune hydra head) but even if immune to spark we could still stack up wet for resist down and bonus damage from lightning, allowing us to still beat them.
Early Game
The hardest part was early game since our entire build was leaning towards all-in for spark. This meant before we unlocked Wilbur's level 3 talent to make spark hit the main target, our damage was sort of underwhelming. Hardest challenge of the run by far was act 1 boss Yilmer. I tried a bunch of idea until settling on picking up more non-vanish sources of wet and a non-vanish sunder armor for Magnus. This let us keep our damage going for 6 turns of the fight, leading to a win.
Late Game
For this team, as soon as we hit level 3 (which was conveniently exactly the same time we reached the Charged Trident item) the whole game changed. Fights started to finish in 2-3 rounds instead of 6-7, and other than the spark immune hydra boss, everything died easily. With careful block stacking/fortify on the right units and keeping debuffs cured it was smooth sailing all the way until the end of the game.
Well, except for the Golem Twins, which were a huge headache because nearly all of Evelyn's damage cards were random target, causing us to take enormous backlash damage from the counter attacks. After a few fight restarts though we got through it.
