I just bought a new Taylor 12e. It comes with Elixir Light Gauge Phosphor Bronze NANOWEB (.012-.053) strings. I've been playing it for about a week straight and I find the strings fairly hard and stiff. My old hands can't take the punishment. When playing a bar chord, especially around the 1st fret area, it's difficult to get a clean sound without really clamping down. The action is fine and the neck is pretty perfect, as you would expect with a brand new guitar. Does anyone else experience these issues with these strings? I'm thinking of throwing some D'Addarios on of the same gauge, but thought I'd get a consensus before doing that. I just hate to mess with something that's brand new. Thanks!
