I recently came across this really Crazy set of Strings made by Magma. These are Magma GA100 B80 80/20 Bronze Wound Ultra-Light Gauge Acoustic Guitar Strings (the Gauges are 9, 11, 16, 26, 36, 46). It does allow you to make your Acoustic Guitar play & feel more like an Electric Guitar as the strings have a lower tension & are gentler on the fingers. From what I read online, this fairly light gauge set of Acoustic Guitar strings was designed for Musicians who have either an injury, lack of mobility, or lack of dexterity in their fretting hand who want to play Acoustic Guitar but can use these Ultra-Light strings. They're also great for Guitars that have worn out tops, & also really old Acoustic Guitars made by Martin that were made for Gut string (what would now be Nylon) & these have roughly the same tension as Gut strings. What I do rather cleverly here to get a good sound is to use a super Thick Pick (e.g. a Gypsy Jazz 3.5 mm Pick or a Purple Plectrums Pick) because it allows me to get a much beefier & rounder sound out of these strings than I otherwise would.
