i’m a bit scared and i don’t know if i should alert my derm. so day before yesterday, i had a crazy hallucination about this butterfly in my room. it was so realistic i was genuinely ducking trying to avoid it because i have a fear of flying insects. it was around 5 am and i had woken up from my sleep so i could barely make out it’s silhouette. when i turned on the lights it vanished but it sent me into a full blown panic attack for about 30 minutes.
these hallucinations had been happening here and there these past 4 days. i’ve noticed they only happen when i wake up from sleep. i will admit my sleep schedule has been super messed up. when i had this butterfly hallucination, i hadn’t slept for around 20 hours.
while i have been this tired before in my life, i can’t recall having realistic hallucinations like this. i googled it and apparently hypnopompic hallucinations are a fairly common phenomenon in people and not always a cause of concern.
but then i’ve read about stories of people going into acute psychosis because of accutane and hallucinations/delusion is the biggest warning signs.
should i contact my derm or just push through the treatment because there’s like about 2 months left.
