Hi! Does anyone here work internally at a subscription-based software/platform company? I'm hoping for advice on how to break into such a role.
I have an accounting degree and over a decade of experience working in CPA firms handling day-to-day financial management for clients in various industries.
I dedicated the last 18 months to making a career change. Obtained certification in customer success, landed a contract role at the e-learning startup where I did my training, and grew my network on LinkedIn.
I've been job hunting for 5 months now and believe my best bet at finding work is combining my accounting skills and knowledge of the subscription economy.
Mid-level accounting roles in tech are not an option since I don't have my CPA. So, I'm looking at job descriptions for billing manager, renewals administrator, deal desk and revenue analyst.
But every time I try to customize my resume, I think this is a stretch. Then again, they're entry- or associate-level roles. Am I being unrealistic?
