Considering moving firms now.. will I burn bridges?

Post Body

Senior accountant in Canada but not yet designated. I basically had no pay increase and I’m making 3K more than the people I’m supervising.

However, I just found out that 2 more seniors left and I know me leaving would really put a strain on my team. Also, it seems that the PA world in my area is very small and people know each other so I’m afraid to move to another small/mid size firm. However, the advantage is I can negotiate for a better contract. That is, exam fee reimbursement, yearly membership fee paid for etc.

I had considered going national as I feel that that would be a more justifiable move but the pay cut would hurt a little and I’m not sure if it’s a good time to join now since their busy season already started.

What would do you guys think?
