I remember how they were sending us podcasts about the lakehouse a few months ago. Wonder when we get to get the Lakehouse experience. I was expecting at least 5-6k of pay from this internship. Now it’s been capped at 3k gross.
Hey that’s okay. We get 3k for 80 hours of work. $37 an hour. Not bad at all.
I know. But then again, I’m lucky to still have another accounting gig as I do this virtual internship. Going to maximize my earnings this summer as we all brace for a recession.

simply going into public accounting will teach you everything you need to know. Bookkeeping isn't hard nowadays with the advent of online accounting software.
I think the number varies per practice because the hours aren't consistent throughout. That 10-11k figure is probably a busy season internship.
I think most of it should be a do on your own time thing. But it seems like there are going to be meetings with other staff that we have to abide by. Just to be safe, I probably won't take a class this summer for this.
It is a good thing, health wise and pay per hour.
Don’t worry about working two jobs as an intern. Don’t have to be loyal just yet. Full time is where you have to commit 100%.

Same! We missed out on a significant amount of hourly pay and the Lakehouse experience. Hopefully they do something about it next year when everything calms down.
better email them right away. Not sure, but even after you start FT they might offer you to check out other practices.
11k 8 weeks with at least 50-60 hour work weeks.
