I’m a second year associate at a mid tier firm on the east coast. I mainly work in private client services.
Over the last few months, I’ve felt that the team has become frustrated with me. I got a doing great in my performance review, but as a whole, I feel the team I’m a part of doesn’t really care about my development. I struggle with timing and work load, and it doesn’t help when each reviewer wants their work done first or asap. They only seem to care about my product output. I know it’s public accounting so it’s normal to experience that, but it sucks to see IRL.
The team has gone through a lot of changes over the last 2 years. About half of the associates that were here when I started were let go/quit after a new manager came in and I sometimes feel I’m next.
I don’t really click with anyone higher up in the team expect for a few people but even then it’s just casual conversation.
Does anyone have any advice on how to deal with this feeling?
