Nebraskan Says Book
Post Body
I have a friend born and raised in central Nebraska who pronounces BOOK to rhyme with KOOK or DUKE, and not like LOOK or COOK. Ethnically she is Irish-American but 3rd generation Nebraskan. I've never heard other Americans pronounce BOOK that way. Any ideas?
