Posting for a friend. I am not a diesel mechanic or expert by any means. I have a friend that is a diesel mechanic, has certs (idk which type/ones), and runs a shop. He currently is grossly underpaid, even for my lack of knowledge, I know he is (<$25k/yr). I am trying to help him find something better paying or more beneficial. The caveat is that he is an ex con with a felony on his record (driving violation). This has made it extremely hard for him and his family to get out from under the thumb of Louisiana, both physically and financially. He is also a former Marine and rated. I'm looking for potential jobs, career areas/ paths that have overlap to his skill set that can be explored, advice from everyone that has had some sort of experience in any part of this situation, vet help, information, etc. TIA. TL;DR: Friend is a diesel mechanic in Louisiana, ex con, vet, financial and life style hardship. Looking for jobs, information, direction, and/or help.
