Advice For Asking Senior Authors for Data Clarification
Post Body

Hello, all! Hoping you are well in this time. I am leading a systematic review project on a very niche subject and the data reporting in one of the articles I am including is giving me a difficult time due to some seeming disparities in numbers. The author seems to be rather prolific, and the paper is published in a "high-tier" journal. I want to reach out to the senior author on ResearchGate and ask some clarifying questions regarding these numerical disparities so I can be sure I correctly represent their team's work, but I want to make sure I follow appropriate etiquette for such a correspondence. Does anyone here have any advice on how to best approach this situation in terms of how to word/format my initial message?

Thanks, everyone!
