I'm reading Geza Vermes' The Complete Dead Sea Scrolls in English and I've noticed a couple references to a "Book of Meditation", specifically in the Damascus Document:
Ten shall be elected from the congregation for a definite time, four from the tribe of Levi and Aaron, and six from Israel. (They shall be) learned in the Book of Meditation and in the constitutions of the Covenant, and aged between twenty-five and sixty years.
What is the "Book of Meditation" referring to in this instance? Is it self-referential as a name for the Damascus Document, or is it (as the "covenant" reference seems to imply?) another name for the Torah? Is there any consensus on this?
