How do I take apart my pro-life friend's argument?
Post Body

Me and my one conservative best friend often fight the abortion debate, but I have trouble finding holes in his argument. He hasn't changed my mind on abortion, but his arguments do bother me. I can't pin him down with my go-to arguments. Which are that the unplanned pregnancy ruins the woman's life, and that existing would lead to a lot of more suffering in the world. Here's my breakdown of what he says, and the conditions for changing sides.

  1. All human life is sacred, and killing any human who hasn't committed a crime is wrong.
  2. Even if there is a slight chance at living a happy and fulfilling life, it's better than no chance at all.
  3. Unplanned pregnancy doesn't always ruin someone's life, and if it isn't guaranteed 100% to ruin the mothers' life then killing the unborn is wrong.
  4. Being a person is irrelevant, because a fetus will eventually become a person.

He said he can change his mind if I can either prove a fetus isn't human, or an unplanned pregnancy is always worse than death. Any margin in which there is a chance for happiness, and he won't be convinced.
