So Florida just passes a bill that says "Girls under the age of 18 will have to get a parent's permission before having an abortion." And it got me thinking. So here's 2 scenarios.
Po-lifers. Imagine a 15 year old (Jane) got raped by a 30 year old and is now pregnant. The parents don't want the Jane to have an abortion so now, by law, she,15 year old, can't have an abortion. Jane doesn't want the kid and it's a constant reminder of what happened to her. Along with the mental burden of carrying her rape child, she also has the physical pregnancy's pain. Nausea, cramps, emotions, stretching and many other things. The pregnancy also effects her friend group so now she has no support system. Jane can't take care of the baby, go to school and maintain and make new friends. So pro lifers, what would happen to Jane after she had her kid? In your opinion, what would be ideal in this situation? Adoption? Would Jane have to drop out of school?
Ok now imagine a different 15 year old (Olivia) was having consensual sex with her boyfriend (another 15 year old), then the condom breaks and she's pregnant. The parents don't want the Olivia to have an abortion so now Olivia can't have an abortion. Olivia doesn't want a kid now but it isn't as much of a mental burden. She has the physical pregnancy's pain. Nausea, cramps, emotions, stretching and many other things. The dad is sticking around so Olivia still has her support system. What would happen to Olivia after she had her kid? In your opinion, what would be ideal in this situation? Adoption? Would Olivia have to drop out of school?
