Azure AKS and Prometheus

Having grown tired of the out of the box "monitoring" and metrics. I have gone back to trying to use Prometheus and Grafana. I had done this previously and recalled it being way easier. All the IPS are private Kubernetes, and Grafana server. But i cant get grafana to talk to my Kubernetes server. I have installe d Prometheus a few different ways, all with no luck. Has anyone had really good luck with this setup? What did you do?
