Hello Group!
So I wanted to provide you with the massive amount of information regarding the Cloud Institute co-hort, as I have been researching and following it since the day after I missed the grant opportunity for January 8th course. I received an email after exhaustive search for the grant possibility for April 8th from a high level AWS executive, and starting today they are offering application for learner grants, only partial that will cover the first three months of the co-hort, $630 per month. By my knowledge they probably gave $100k or more in full grants for the first co-hort, and AWS executives decided that was too much financially, over 8500 people were enrolled in the first course when I enrolled. I am guessing at the amount of grants given. My thoughts if you want to attend and cant pay total amount is , go to work for Amazon, even part time, after 90 days they will give you 50% tuition costs for the class. You DO NOT apply on AWS for the learner grant, it is managed by an outside agency for fairness, do not ask me who please, you need to do that work on your own.
Remember that $7600 or so is a good investment if this is the career you want, and most likely you have a much better chance of being hired by AWS immediately after completing this year course than someone who does it all for free, in confusing order.
One last thing, this course prepares you for Entry level job in AWS Cloud services, most likely AWS cloud associate, but the training while working is priceless. Here in Seattle base rate for entry level is $30/hour plus the most amazing benefits in the country.
Good luck
