I’ve seen a couple videos like this one:
These videos talk about recent research that suggests we (our solar system) live in a gigantic tunnel which is about 350 light years across.
Tonight I had a thought that what if this was the size of the simulation and everything outside of this tunnel is ‘rendered’ so to speak on the walls of the tunnel. This way the simulation doesn’t need to create atoms for the entire universe, only the stuff inside this tunnel. Then we simulated people will never reach the edges of this ‘universe’ as it would take us many years to travel 350 light years.
Alternatively, this could solve the Fermi Paradox as we might be segregated from the rest of the universe since we are such a silly/evil people. The galactic community has hidden themselves from these crazy earthlings, who still have wars and treat each other so poorly.
Or we are in a galactic zoo, or hell, etc.
