For background, I wrote a post in this subreddit a few days ago about what everyone's thoughts were on asking a woman I want to date to sign an NDA. So I actually had a woman in mind when I thought of this proposal, and to my delight, she signed the NDA willfully this afternoon. I even asked if I could audio record us doing the signing together, and she was totally OK with it. She actually thought it was cool that I was putting that much forethought into a relationship with her. WOW.
And it's true. This woman checks several boxes: (1) not a member of that batshit AWDTSG group; (2) rational, smart, and beautiful; and (3) professional-minded, such that she understands the value of her significant other's privacy and reputation.
The NDA is similar to other NDAS, although it's geared specifically for dating, and includes things like sexual history, sexual health status, etc. Typically these NDAS include prohibitions from posting on social medias regarding the relationship, but I specifically asked my attorney to highlight AWDTSG and other "'gripe' or dating-related websites" (that's the term of art for this).
The NDA has exceptions like for illegal conduct or information in the public domain, which are understandable. The woman I'm dating *did* ask why I wanted to have an NDA, and I calmly explained to her that I had a bad experience where someone discussed my private matters on social media, some true and designed to humiliate me, and some completely false - both claims were defamatory and a violation of my trust and privacy in a way that could damage my professional reputation. She completely agreed because (1) she values her own professional reputation and does not want me to post lies or embarrassing truths about her and (2) she is a good person and not batshit crazy.
Overall, I got even more respect for this woman. My lawyer did this for $1500. This is in a jurisdiction where case law shows NDAs for dating is enforceable. Attorney drafted similar NDAs for celebrity clientele too, and successfully enforced some of these in civil court as well. We list punitive damages in the event of breach, but he told me 9/10 parties will settle out of court.
*TLDR: Woman I'm dating signed an NDA because I told her I don't want to be posted in a disgusting, slanderous AWDTSG group. She values my privacy and agreed. It cost me money to draft, but well worth the peace of mind.*
Good luck! DM me if you have questions about what the NDA covers.
