So I’m basically new to everything off-road and atv based, but I did some searches on forums and most people suggest going for a 20x11 R9 rear tire ( 20x10R9 is oem ) but nobody actually talks about the front tire sizes.
What would happen if I put a wider tire on the front, like 22x8R10 ( oem size is 22x7R10 ). What does this do? Iknow going for bigger tires makes you slower and decreases stopping power but would it in turn increase stability or is it all just negative things.
I’m really struggling with the Suzuki at higher speeds (80-90km/u ) ( I have to drive 15km to get to the place we ride and it’s a 90km/u road ) where the entire front of the quad seems to ‘float’ and is really unstable making my quad ‘slide’ to the left and right at high speeds which actually almost drove me into incoming traffic on the other lane, would wider front tires help the stability or just make it worse.
Also I just bought the quad and the previous owner put road tires on the front and off-road tires on the rear, is this a good thing or not? I’m kinda just trying to understand how tire sizes a types play a role in the stability of the quad at higher speeds.
