Question about size

Ok roast away if you want. I know nothing about atvs but I am looking to buy one. Mainly for hunting and farm use. Very hilly and rough terrain with thick woods. Now what size should I look for. I know I am going for four wheel drive. I am doing research on brands and features but why would someone choose a 1000 over say a 450. Is it just because it’s faster? Or in reality will it make enough difference to matter.
