Avatar has inspired me to look more into Buddhism philosophy, and more specifically letting go of Earthly attachments, and being mindful of the present moment. I can’t believe that a kids show could hold such deep and introspective values. I really think that Avatar is more than just a show. It’s really a way of teaching us important values whether they be Katara’s sometimes irrational hope, Aang’s love for all life, Zuko’s redemption arc, etc. This show has really taught me a lot since I started watching it 3 weeks ago.
