I'm looking at the new ROG laptops with the AMD 5000 series CPUs and Nvidia 3000 series GPUs which I know both have PCIe 4.0 capabilities but notice that NVMe M.2 SSDs are explicitly stated as running at 3.0 speeds. Now does that mean all PCIe connections are running at 3.0 speeds for either power or thermal considerations or is it just the NVMe connection? Now are these hardware limitations or were the settings just downgraded in the BIOS? And if is just a BIOS setting and/or the SSD is only 3.0 capable because 4.0 SSDs are still on the pricier side, could I upgrade it down the line and run a 4.0 SSD at 4.0 speeds?
