Novus Garage is the closest parking garage that I could get a resident permit in for some reason despite living in the GLV, so I have quite a walk from my car. As a woman, it is especially dangerous, I have to walk through one of the sketchiest parts surrounding campus and cross 3 intersections to get to my dorm so I rely on safety escort services to make sure I can get back safely.
Does anyone know when the services will be back? They've been closed the last two times I wanted to use them despite it being in normal service hours, which is annoying because I don't want to have to call an officer to walk with me every time.
Also, does anyone know why they're closed? if ASU doesn't provide enough parking for their students, then it should at least be their responsibility to provide adequate safety and make sure people are safe if they have to park so far away from their on-campus housing.
EDIT: Apparently they're closed for the remainder of the semester, thank you all for letting me know! I ordered a zen last night after posting this (a good replacement for safety escort, it does cost money though), and my driver had the exact same issue I had. Apparently they lie at parking and transportation offices about how many spots they actually have open, so I may be able to get a permit for Rural Garage instead. Fingers crossed
