Synopsis: Although trying to escape your ancestors’ past by transferring schools, no one is making it any easier at your new wizard academy. However, during routine harassment, the main bully tells you the true motivation behind it.

Important notes: Feel free to change or make additions to small aspects of this work such as the tags, pronouns, title, etc.! VA goes by BULLY and the listener is LISTENER. I really only put M4A or F4A because I want to have the pronouns of the speaker and listener different so it isn’t confusing. All of my scripts are really intended to be A4A.

The “pause” indicates a character other than the speaker or listener is talking. No actual words need to be spoken, it is only implied.

The wizard has a very loud, slightly awkward, and dorky personality. The listener’s words are short and blunt.

INT. A classroom hallway.

Chatter flies about as students are exiting their classes. Suddenly, a loud group of footsteps, accompanied by hushed giggling, rush toward the listener.

​

BULLY

Hey goth freak, heads up!

​

The sound of a bucket’s handle rattles as he throws a small amount of sawdust on them.

​

BULLY

(sheepish chuckling, obviously lying)

Oh. I guess the spell didn’t work, sorry guys haha. I’ve been kind of slacking on studying lately.

​

Pause

​

BULLY

Yeah, yeah. Well, your woodshop grade isn’t phenomenal either. Hey, it’s your fault for not getting a lot of sawdust in the first place. Did you really expect a bucket of frogs from these crumbs? Besides, what were we gonna do with them after?

​

Pause

​

BULLY

Sure, I’ll see you guys later.

​

His voice tone completely changes, going from loud to hush as he comes close to the listener.

​

BULLY

I am so sorry, here, let me help.

​

The listener steps back.

​

BULLY

I’m not going to do anything to you. I’m sorry. I can grab some paper towels if you’d like-

BULLY

(disheartened)

Oh… alright then.

​

They are swiping the sawdust from their uniform as he continues.

​

BULLY

Well, you have every reason not to forgive me. For the record, this wasn’t my idea…I know it doesn’t matter, I still did it.

​

[...]

​

BULLY

Really? Well, if I had known you liked frogs that much I would have actually done the spell. It would have spared the mess. I was trying to be obnoxiously loud to give you a heads-up but… Again, I am so sorry… you’re not gonna curse me, are you?

​

[...]

​

BULLY

Well, I don’t know! The only things I know about you are what I hear from others. You became a celebrity practically overnight you know, I can’t imagine why you wouldn’t, being a descendent of a dark lord after all. Your whole goth attire doesn’t help either.

[...]

​

BULLY

Sorry, is that insulting? No, no I get it, it must be a sucky reminder. Everyone thought you were a normie at first you know, like, non-magic wielding. We thought you only got in because your aunt is a history professor here.

[...]

​

BULLY

Ouch, I guess you didn’t know we knew that. Yeah, gossip spreads pretty quickly around here. You would think such top-tier students would be mature, but sadly not in this case. Do you want me to continue?

[...]

​

BULLY

(sad chuckle)

Yeah, there’s more. Uh, I’m free for a bit before my next class, how about you?

​

[...]

​

BULLY

Oh, cool. If you’d like, we can continue in the library instead of just standing out here.

​

(optional: footsteps sfx fading out)

TIME JUMP

INT. The academy’s library dimly lit by a broad fireplace. (optional sfx of crackling fire)

BULLY

Well, then we were curious about your whole… situation. It’s not that hard to trace your ancestry, all of the books are at our fingertips. We know you’re not a super direct lineage to those… magic wielders, and you’ve obviously separated yourself from that.

(sighing)

Oh gosh, the longer I talk the worse I feel about all of this. Honestly, maybe the professors should have been more upfront about all of this then it wouldn’t have been… maybe if they treated this- maybe if we hadn’t…

(pause)

Nothing could excuse our actions, my actions. I’m sorry, we were all just… scared.

The room is filled with silence for a moment before the listener breaks it.

​

[...]

​

BULLY

What? I can’t imagine going to a normie school for a week, let alone my whole life. But I’m glad your aunt vouched for you.

​

[...]

​

BULLY

(awkward)

W-well, I mean it’s good and all to be, uhm, well you know, more aware of your abilities and the past so as to not…repeat history.

(normal)

Also… it meant I got to meet you.

(chuckling)

I admit it’s not the best way to meet. But, I want to make it up to you.

[...]

​

BULLY

Of course I do. I don’t think anyone should be treated this way. Also, it’s pretty stupid, if they’re already afraid of you why would they make you upset? This would essentially be the beginning of a villain story-

(clears throat)

But yeah, it’s wrong.

(normal)

And I think you’re pretty cool too.

BULLY

Well of course I think there’s a nice side of you, even if you look a bit intimidating.

(catching himself)

I mean, I think you look great, you pull off your look very… well?

(normal)

You seem like the rest of us, except for being confused about the most basic spells. Whenever I see you, you are always focused on catching up, whether it be practicing by the fountain or here reading in the library. Putting all of that effort into studying something it took years for us to master is truly admirable.

[...]

​

BULLY

It’s not “stalking.” I was just trying to…

(pause)

Hey, how about I make it up to you with a study session? To help you catch up. I promise I’ll be a good teacher, I am one of the top students after all.

​

[...]

​

BULLY

Alright, it’s a date.

(embarrassed)

I mean- I meant “date” as a figure of speech… I mean… unless.

​

[...]

​

BULLY

Ahaha, nothing, nothing! Alright, sounds good, just a regular study session.

(pause)

Oh… you still have a bit of sawdust on your face. Here, I’ll get it for you.

​

He comes close to the listener, brushing their face.

​

BULLY

Sorry, I know I’m pretty close. There, got it. But, I’m not going to pretend anymore, to hate you or harass you. I’m going to have to figure out a way to bring this up with the others.

(chuckling)

They might think you conjured something on me. Don’t worry, I’ll take care of it.

​

[...]

​

BULLY

You don’t need to thank me. No one deserves this treatment. You’re going to be okay now.

​

[...]

​

BULLY

Really, it’s alright… why are you coming closer?

​

The listener kisses him and although hesitant at first, he reciprocates it.

​

BULLY

Oh. Well, this I don’t mind. But I didn’t think you’d feel this way towards me, especially after all that.

​

[...]

​

BULLY

I see. Well, I’m glad I didn’t come off as a bad person to you. I didn’t think you’d notice me at all in class, let alone on campus, because of how focused you are. I guess that makes us both stalkers then. That came out weird, but you know what I mean.

(pause)

Aw, this is the first time I’ve seen you smile. I hope when we are together I can keep making you smile. Because no matter what, I’m going to be here for you.

He initiates kissing them and they continue for a few moments.

​

BULLY

I need to head to my next class now. I’ll see you at our study date.

​
