[M4A] The Rarest Flower, All To Myself [Bard Speaker] [Florist Listener] [Forest Encounter] [Flirty Speaker] [Listener Couldn’t Care Less] [Tsundere Listener] [Tavern] [Implied Love Song Performance] [Late Night Cave Adventure] [Strangers to Lovers]
Author Summary
foggycsea is a male looking for anyone in Strangers to Lovers
Post Body

Synopsis: Refusing to admit you are swept up by his charm, you avoid the town bard, but today he visits your flower shop in hopes of winning your attention.

Important notes: Feel free to change or make additions to small aspects of this work such as the tags, pronouns, title, etc.! VA goes by BARD and the listener is LISTENER. I really only put M4A or F4A because I want to have the pronouns of the characters different so it isn’t confusing. All of my scripts are really intended to be A4A.

This one has a lot of setting changes/ time jumps (forest, flower shop, tavern)

The Rarest Flower, All To Myself

Monetization is okay, just be sure to see my Terms of Use

Script List

FADE IN

EXT. Early morning at the forest on the outskirts of the kingdom’s gates.

The listener is steadily making their way through the luscious grass, progressively getting closer to the sound of humming. The lovely tune grows louder with each footstep until the bard and listener notice each other.

BARD

(chuckling)

Why hello. Like what you hear?

The listener is frozen in place, embarrassed from being drawn in.

BARD

It’s alright, I don’t bite.

(pause)

Huh, where are you going? Don’t go-

The listener ignores his callouts as they scurry away, his voice fading away.

TIME JUMP

INT. Afternoon in the listener’s flower shop.

The listener is tending to their nursery, focusing on a plant on the cashier counter, and the bard walks in (SFX bell jingling). He browses through the store, walking up and down the short aisles.

[...]

BARD

Hmm? Oh, I’m just looking at the moment. I’m hoping to commission a bouquet.

After a few more seconds of looking around, he walks over to them at the counter.

BARD

(close to them)

I need an arrangement that translates to friendliness, charm, something to woo someone over. What would you recommend?

[...]

BARD

(completely thrown off guard and insulted)

H-huh? Unless your prices demand gold bars of course I can afford it! Bards aren’t some hooligans.

(flirty)

But… that means you recognize me~

[...]

BARD

Oh come on, it’s hard not to notice a character as charming as myself. Hmm, perhaps that’s why you seem so familiar to me.

[...]

BARD

No, no. I’m sure of it. Hmm, well obviously that means I’ve seen you at the tavern, I would never forget a cutie like you. Ah! You’re the standoffish individual! It’s coming back to me, you always roll your eyes when I catch you staring at me!

[...]

BARD

(teasing)

Don’t deny it, you’re regarded as one of the most friendly shopkeepers, but you seem to treat me differently. I could draw the conclusion that you despise me, but considering how frequently you visit and the tinge of red on your face right now… I think the opposite is true.

(flirty)

Don’t worry, I’ve been keeping my eye on you too.

[...]

BARD

No need to drive me away! I am a paying customer after all.

The listener sighs but gives in. They thud a heavy book on the counter and slide it over to him.

BARD

How organized. You have a book full of all of your flower choices?

(pause)

Oh come on, we can look through it together, just get a little closer to me. Hmm.

He leans on the counter and they flip through the book for a couple of seconds.

BARD

Hmm… I don’t see what I’m looking for. It looks something like…this.

He takes out a flower from his pocket.

BARD

(chuckling)

You dropped it when you ran off.

(normal)

I was worried I wouldn’t find out who was eavesdropping on me, but once I saw this particular flower, I knew it was you. Your shop is the only one that sells these, the rarest type in the land. Is it true that most of your profits come from selling these?

[...]

BARD

Well, that makes sense. They are beautiful, it’s like they radiate this confident, bright aura. But they also thrive in frigid environments, don’t they?

(teasing)

Hot and cold, kind of like you, huh?

[...]

BARD

Is relaxing in the forest so wrong? I usually take a stroll to get some inspiration, but I admit I had an ulterior motive this morning.

[...]

BARD

No, no! I would never try to steal your secrets. I usually see you walk out the gates during that time of the day, and I was hoping to run into you.

(awkward chuckle)

But it seems I only scared you off.

(normal)

I thought you got all flustered because it was me, but now I realize how you probably want to keep your secrets from the public. You’ve been doing a great job by the way, no one knows how you manage to find these.

[...]

BARD

Wow, really? I thought they were impossible to domesticate. You must be really good at what you do. But I went out to that specific part of the forest to finally talk to you. Hmm, I suppose it would be silly to give a bouquet back to a florist you commissioned.

(pause)

Here, you can have this back.

He tries giving the flower to them but they refuse it.

BARD

Really? Thank you, I will treasure it forever.

(teasing)

I knew you liked my performance.

(normal)

Say, why don’t you come to the tavern tonight? I got some great inspiration from our encounter.

The listener hesitates for a moment but agrees.

BARD

Wonderful! I’ll see you there.

TIME JUMP

INT. Late evening in the town’s tavern.

Soft clapping emerges from the audience as soon as the bard finishes his performance, soon washed over by conversations and laughter bouncing off the walls. He struts to the listener.

BARD

(sighing in relief)

So, what did you think? By the blushing mess on your face, I think I have my answer, but I want to hear it from you.

[...]

BARD

(chuckling)

I’m glad you liked it! I don’t typically write sappy love songs, I’ve never had anyone to write them about until I met you. Of course, I wanted to properly talk to you first before performing something like this, partially because I’m a little embarrassed but I wanted to make sure you know it is dedicated to you.

(whispering)

No one else knows who I was referring to, so it’s a secret between the two of us.

[...]

BARD

Of course I think all of those things about you. I’ll repeat it as many times as you need to hear it. I think you’re brilliant and sincere and intelligent-

[...]

BARD

(laughing)

Alright, I’ll stop. But I’m glad I don’t have to remain as your secret admirer, I’ve had to refrain from my feelings gushing out all at once.

[...]

BARD

Hmm? Don’t you want to stay for a drink? It’s pretty late, I don’t think we should wander off.

(teasing)

Oh, I see, is this your way of asking me out? To that I happily oblige.

The listener takes his hand.

[...]

BARD

H-huh? No, of course I don’t want to get lost, I have nothing against holding your hand…I just didn’t think you’d be so straightforward. Alright, alright I’m coming.

TIME JUMP

EXT. Night in the forest.

The two hop over thick roots protruding from the earth and shuffle through loose leaves under the moonlight.

BARD

We’re a good distance from the gates, don’t you think we should stop? I know I’m good but I doubt any bard could charm an angry bear if need be.

The listener leads him in the direction of a secluded cave.

BARD

Okay, now you’re really asking for trouble. I admire you for being so daring, but going inside a dark cave is a little much, don’t you think? No- don’t pull away the vines, what if something is in there?!

[...]

BARD

Fine, if you say so.

INT. They walk into the cave.

BARD

Huh?! These- these are the flowers! Your flowers! This is where you grow them? But, how could you fill such a vast cave with these?

He admires the scenery, gawking at its features.

BARD

This is genius, it’s cold but with the giant hole in the ceiling, you’re able to get some sunlight. There’s even a little irrigation system, a small creek in between each patch of flowers. Did you do this all by yourself?

[...]

BARD

That’s amazing. You’re truly something. I promise not to tell a soul. I understand why you kept this a secret, you wouldn’t want to decrease the price of these, especially since they are your pride and joy.

[...]

BARD

Sure I’m tired, but I don’t want to ruin your work by sitting. Are you sure?

(pause)

Alright.

The two sit on a soft pillow of grass.

BARD

I could definitely get some inspiration from mere seconds of being here, the moonlight trickling in, the smell of moist dirt, and the soft breeze swaying the leaves. Thank you so much for showing me this.

(teasing)

You must really like me huh? I’m glad the feeling is mutual. Oh come on, don’t get all embarrassed, it’s cute-

The listener cuts him off with a kiss and he reciprocates it, the two of them continuing for a while more before pulling away.

BARD

(chuckling)

Finally. Believe me, I’ve been wanting this for a while. You really are filled with surprises, aren’t you? Even if you were acting so reserved I couldn’t help but be intrigued. I’m glad curiosity got the best of me.

(whispering)

Because now I’ve got the rarest type of flower all to myself.
