Context: You've found an incredible deal on an apartment and just moved in! It's so exciting to have your own place, and you're just getting settled in on this night. Sure, it's not the best neighborhood. Sure, the landlord mentioned some crime, but you're not too bothered. After all, what's the worst that could happen? A werewolf mob boss is what happened. You saved the pureblood werewolf known as Fane and he thanked you. You thought that was the last time you'd see him. You were wrong. And wrong again.

[Scene opens in your apartment]

[SFX: Delicious food cooking and a knock]

[As dinner cooks up, a knock comes at your door. You hurry and open the door, expecting your date. You get Fane instead, and his incredibly infuriating, sexy smirk]

“Heya there, Doll. Mmh, I don’t know what you’re cooking but it is hitting this old nose in all kinds of ways. Can I come in?”

[Pause?]

“Waiting on your date? Huh. What’s he look like?”

[Pause]

“Oh, him. Yeah, I wouldn’t wait up on that one. He bolted the second I mentioned we were heading in a similar direction.”

[He grins, tail wagging very subtly]

“Damn, so upset… Waiting up for a man all dressed up to impress you, huh? Well, I’m a man. I’m dressed up. I’ve got a cavernous stomach that’d be more than happy to sample your fine cuisine.”

[Pause]

“Whaaat? Did it on purpose? Hey, all I said to the guy was 'You going to talk to them, huh? Well, you best hope you’re man enough for them. Let’s find out’. Are you trying to tell me that’s threatening?”

[Pause]

[He chuckles again and steps inside, hanging up his coat]

“Thank you kindly for agreeing to host me, Doll. What did you whip up for your poor excuse for a date, huh? Smells divine.”

[SFX: A chair squeaking and creaking a little]

“Some old family recipes, huh? Enh… Fair enough. Yeah, here, I’ll pour us some wine.”

[SFX: A cork popping and wine being poured]

“Hm? Am I inviting myself to stay? I don’t hear you telling me to go.”

[Pause]

“C’mon, Doll… If you tell me to go, I’ll go. Ahahaha! I can’t even say that with a straight face. Don’t look so cross, darling, I was just in the neighborhood and wanted to check in, that’s all. ‘Sides, we had fun last month, huh? You were laughin’ all night. Course we were both a little tipsy but hey…”

[Pause]

“Yeah, uh… Figured we should also probably talk ‘bout what happened as well…”

[...]

[SFX: Plates being set down]

“...Look. Things got hot and heavy. A little ‘passionate’, one might say… I don’t think I gotta tell you that fun is one thing, but anything serious is gonna put you in harm’s way. I reckon you came to the same conclusion as well, considering you invited another man over…”

[Pause?]

“Pfft, I ain’t jealous. I got my pick of the finest this city has to offer. I just want to make sure you’re OK, alright? People probably saw us together when we were partying, and my bodyguards definitely heard you howling when we got back to my place. People talk, and you aren’t exactly hard to find. Mmh, wait, are these tamales handmade?”

[Pause]

“Damn, I haven’t had food like this since we had to leave Tijuana. Mmh! Oh, babydoll, c’mon, you’re killing me! You can’t be cooking food this good while I’m trying to tell you that we can’t get wrapped up in each other like that again!”

[Pause]

[He laughs]

“Yeah, yeah, I know, I’m the one that approached you the last two times. Kind of have to. You were blindfolded before getting into my compound, so it’s not exactly like you could ring me up.”

[You eat with him and it’s not all that unpleasant]

“Damn, I’m gonna get a gut at this rate! Hehe. Oh, and dessert? C’mon, Doll, I’m already full to b-... brownie sundae, you say? Rrrgh, damnit, fine. Yeah, fatten me up until I’m a lap dog, whatever.”

[He happily scarfs down his dessert while you do the dishes]

“Mmh… Damn. You’re not squirreling any more dishes, right? I think my tail is drooping from the sheer amount of calories I just punched down my gullet. Ergh, speaking of, mind if I use the restroom?”

[Pause]

“Aww… You’re gonna get changed out of that outfit? Mmh, it’s so cute though…”

[Pause!]

[He cackles]

“Not for me, though, fine. I’ll be back.”

[SFX: Dish doing sounds and heavy footsteps padding toward the Listener]

[You’re halfway through the dishes when Fane joins you, grabbing a rag]

“Gimme the wet ones, I’ll dry and put ‘em up.”

[Pause?]

“Course I’m helping with the dishes. You fed me, you hosted me, I’d be an unkind guest if I didn’t help clean up. That and Ma would smack me across the snout if I didn’t behave a little to the person who saved my life. Ah, I don’t care if dishwater gets on my shirt. I’m used to dirty shirts. Have been since I was with The Jaguars.”

[Pause?]

[He pauses and exhales through his nose]

“The Jaguars were a Brazilian gang that trafficked people from home to safer places, like good ol’ Summergleam City here. I worked my way up through the ranks, got my Ma and siblings out of there, and then snapped the old leader’s neck… I’m sure you already don’t think well of me, considering I’m a belligerent criminal, but… I did what I had to do to get my family out.”

[Pause]

“...Thanks for not judging me, Doll. You’ve had every reason to but you treat me like a regular person. That’s… rare.”

[You feel something wrap around your leg and look down]

“Yeah, that’s my tail wrapping around your leg, sweetheart. It knows… It knows what I want before I’m ready to admit it. Damned thing always does, though.”

[Pause?]

“It wants you, Doll.”

[He turns and stares you down with some of that dangerous intensity, moving forward until your back is to the fridge]

“I want you…”

[Pause…]

“Rrgh, I know what I said… I’m a red-blooded man, sugar, and you are one beautiful, charming, sweet little thing that just fed me. If you were a werewolf too, I might just bite down on that sweet little nape and, well… mate you proper.”

[Pause!]

[He smiles but doesn’t move away or closer]

“...Your move, Doll. You can try and push me away, but you’re just going to end up getting a handful of these abs, and we both know what happens when you touch them…”

[...]

“Oh, I am a bad habit you’re never gonna quit, babydoll. And I know I’m a hypocrite, believe you me… But I know what I want, and I know how I can get if said object of my desire isn’t sitting pretty on my lap within an hour after the fancy strikes… Trust me, you want hypocritical Fane over “feeling butterflies” Fane… but you know that, don’t you?”

[Your heart pounds as he leans down, lips inches from yours]

“...It’s OK to give in to your inner demons again.”

[With that, he kisses you, claiming you wholly and with no shame]

“Mmh! … Now you have my permission to take off that outfit, babydoll…”
