[quiet slithering sounds]

“I always take this path through the forest… I wonder what other things are in these woods?”

“Maybe some magical herbs… definitely a magical creature or two… and I’ve heard Helen tell me that at night there are will-o-wisps…”

[slithering sound slowly gets louder]

“... Ugh… musing to myself isn’t making this creepy feeling go away…”

“There has to be a reason that only I feel this way, right? Is it a magical imbalance in the air?”

“But if that were the case, then Alice would have sensed it too… what could it–”

[the leaves crunch as you pounce on him]

“Huh– GAH!”

“Ugh– argh! G-Get off! L-Let go of me!”

[magic sounds]

“Ngh–! I can’t cast spells while my hands are pinned–! H-Help!”

[pause]

“C-Calm down?! What do you mean calm down?! What are you?!”

[pause]

“... You’ve been… *gulp* w-watching me…?”

“Y-You have me all alone now?!”

“W-wait! What do you want from me!? I’m just– just a random mage who works for the Blue Phoenix Guild! I’m not even important!!!”

“U-Um… w-well, they have– a human torso and a… s-serpentine body… they’re c-cold blooded, their scales a-are a very useful magical catalyst f-for poison spells, th-they have venom in their fangs that disrupts mana flow in the human body…”

[pause]

“... Th-They have… v-venom that… disrupts… mana flow–!”

[you grab his hair]

“Argh! M-My hair! Stop! What are–”

[you hiss, and sink your teeth into his shoulder]

“A–AAAAAAH!!!”

“ST-STOP! PLEASE! I-IT HURTS–!”

[heavy breathing]

“Please! L-let…”

[you pull your fangs out]

“Go…”

[he falls to the floor]

[you can add some sizzling noises here to show the venom moving through his body]

“Ah… augh… h-help… it– it hurts–”

(thinking) It– it hurts so much… thinking is difficult… I– I have to do something…

If I… use my remaining mana… to– to cast a tracking spell on myself…

Someone from my guild will… find me…

[quiet magic noises]

“... Ugh…”

[he falls asleep]

[slithering noises as you take him back to your lair]

[timeskip]

“... [gasp]”

“… Ah… ughh… m-my body…. It… it hurts…”

“I can’t… move…”

“What… happened?”

“Gah!”

“W-well now I’m awake!”

“Let… go of me!”

[shuddering breath]

“F—fine. I’ll- I’ll stay with you.”

“… but… c-can you please loosen your grip…? It’s… g-getting hard to breathe…”

“No… I– I promise I won’t… try to escape…”

[slithering sounds]

“Ah… th-thank you…”

[pause, filled with him breathing shakily]

“Do you… h-have anything that… helps with the pain…?”

[pause]

“Yes… it– it does hurt… I mean, it’s g-getting better… but still…”

[pause]

“You… don’t know?”

“But… you’ll hold me… until I feel better…?”

“But… I… my mana…”

[pause]

“I won’t… need my mana anymore…?”

“Because… I’m yours now…?”

(thinking) No… I– I have to get out of here…

I can feel the venom… messing with the mana flow in my body… it doesn’t hurt as much anymore but it still burns like hell… a few days, and it’s possible that the venom will drain all of my mana…

I cast the tracking spell already but– it might take too long for them to get to me…

[you hiss as your tail catches on fire and starts to burn]

[fast slithering]

“Ugh!”

[he scrambles out of your grip]

“God, even moving hurts– h-how do you like that?!”

[hissing]

I’m too weak to fight this monster right now! I-If I can run…!

“Velox!” (Latin for Swift, speedy, you can look up the pronunciation)

[the sound of wind]

“Out… of the way!”

[he tries to rush past you]

[you use your tail as a whip and trip him]

“Ugh!”

[you wrap your tail around his ankle and drag him back]

“A-Augh!”

“Stop–! Let… go!”

[pause]

“D-Did I think you wouldn’t notice…?”

“Well kind of but–”

[pause

“Look, I– I don’t want to stay, okay?! I– I have people I need to get back to!”

[you coil your tail around him again]

“Don’t– ugh, that’s tight– c-call me ‘darling’, I’m going to get out of here! Gah, l-let go!!”

“You– you can’t keep me here, you hear me?! You…!”

[he stares at your eyes]

“You… can’t…”

[long pause]

“Ugh…”

“Right… How could I… forget…”

“Nagas… can hypnotize… people who look… into their eyes…”

[pause]

“... No, st-stay awake… stay awake… stay…”

[long pause]

“Mmm… no, it doesn’t hurt… nothing hurts…”
