[His smile fades to concern at something behind you]

[SFX: A door chime]

[C] “Shit, he’s coming this way…”

[You turn and see a very tall, built man with many tattoos walking toward you]

[C] “Hey, buddy, you can’t just come in here-!”

[The man opens his arms and catches you as you jump into them]

“Oh! H-Hey, baby. Easy.”

[C] “O-Oh… You’re her boyfriend?”

[Pause]

“H-Haha, yeah. I’m just as surprised as you are. N-Never know how I managed that one. R-Rolled high on charisma, I guess.”

[Your coworker looks him up and down, eyebrows raised]

[C] “Goodness me, you are a tall drink of water! Do you play basketball?”

[You see your boyfriend is getting visibly uncomfortable]

“I-I, um… not unless y-you count playing ball w-with wolf pups? T-They get pretty tall.”

[C] “Wait, wh-?”

[Pause]

[You step between them and excuse yourself]

[C] “Oh! My apologies. It was, uh, nice to meet you.”

“Y-Yeah, you too, man.”

[You take his hand and lead him out of the building]

[SFX: Door opening and city sounds]

“Mmh…”

[Pause?]

“H-Huh? Yeah, I’m OK… I’d k-kind of braced for it before I arrived. Wish it had been avoidable but, you know, what can you do?”

[Pause…]

“I mean, it’s kind of on me, you know? I’ve hated my size my whole life because it makes people afraid of me so what do I do? I get a bunch of tattoos of animals and stuff, making me look like even more of a thug… I just, you know… S-Sorry, I’m shutting down. W-we can…”

[Pause]

“...Y-Yeah. Sitting down by the lake in the park sounds nice.”

[SFX: Walking and gradual lake noises]

“Here we go… Nice and q-quiet. Hey, um… do you want to snuggle up under my hoodie?”

[SFX: Cloth rustling and a zipper]

[You rest against him, comfortable in his arms]

“...Are you scared of me?”

[He flushes as you turn to look at him]

“H-Hey, c’mon… You know I get flustered when you look into my eyes…”

“Why did I ask that? Mmh… People have been giving us weird looks all day. I know what they must be thinking… Some massive thug hovering around someone way smaller… I don’t want to make you uncomfortable i-is all…”

[Pause]

[He giggles quietly]

[He sighs and rests his chin on top of your head]

“You have not smelled me when I’m without deodorant! Noooo, stoooop! Mmhh, you take advantage of knowing I’m secretly a marshmellow way too often, you know that?”

“You’re getting kisses.”

[You laugh as he kisses all over your face and crown]

[SFX: A calm lake and some chatter]
