Context: You are the manager of the pop sensation known as L-Bomb. A band with four brothers, they've gained success and notoriety more than any other. The only downside is that they're vampires of the emotional variety, and get their strength from being worshiped and loved. They see humans as little more than food, not seeming to realize that the one person they truly do love, you, falls under that definition. It's time for things to come to a head.

[Scene opens backstage of a massive concert]

[SFX: Crazed cheering and applause]

[You stand in the wings while the group known as L-Bomb bid their farewells to the crowd]

[O] “Y-You guys have been so sweet tonight! I-I really feel so safe with such loving, devoted fans! This is Oliver Wylde saying “I love you all!”.”

[SFX: More cheering]

[N] “You guys always know how to leave us really… satisfied.”

[He grins and winks at the audience as they continue to lose their shit]

[N] “Noah Wylde of L-Bomb signing off with “I love you all!”. Mwah! Now, I know you all love the disaster twins of our little group: Liam and Logan, let’s hear it!”

[SFX: Even more cheering]

[The twins do their usual posturing and posing]

[Lo] “Logan Wylde, the handsome brother-!”

[Li] “Liam Wylde, the more handsome brother-!”

[They strike one final pose together before:]

[Lo Li] “Both love you all!”

[SFX: One final uproar of obsessive worship and love as the curtains fall]

[The boys march your way, laughing among themselves as you wait]

[Li] “Mmmh… that was a good meal. Fifty thousand seats filled, fifty thousand people worshiping us like the gods we are, hehe.”

[Lo] “Dude, right? I thought that lady upfront was gonna pass out when you looked her in the eye!”

[O] “H-Heh… Humans are so dumb. C-Can’t even feel their emotional energy being drained while we perform for them, hmhm. L-Bomb was SUCH a good name idea, Noah.”

[N] “Hey, what can I say - I’m the smart, aloof one. Liam and Logan are the disaster twins, and Oli is our widdle shy, soft boy, hmhm.”

[O] “I-I prefer to be referred to by my actual title. “F-Fan favorite”.”

[Lo] “You wish, Oliver. I… Hey, Mana!”

[N] “The world’s greatest manager!”

[You’re hugged by all four of them, but only briefly]

[Li] “...Mana, what’s wrong? You look so… glum. Do you need to sit down?”

[O] “W-Where’s your water bottle…Let m-me find it.”

[Lo] “C’mon, Mana, this is the first night in AGES where all four of us can focus entirely on you. On making you feel… appreciated.”

[N] “After all…”

[All of them make little hearts with their hands and coo in unison:]

[N O Li Lo] “We love you~.”

[...]

[If a record had been playing, it might have scratched as you finally spit out what you’ve been holding in for months now]

[Li] “W…What did you just say?”

[N] “You… want to quit? No, no no no, you… you can’t!”

[Lo] “This whole production, this whole thing, our…our family…!”

[O, breaking into sobs] “D-DON’T LEAVE US!”

[The boys surround you]

[Li] “Whoa, whoa, Mana… Easy. Let’s talk about this, OK?”

[Pause]

[They exchange nervous looks]

[O] “Y-You can’t just… just leave us…! You’re the only person we really do love!”

[He begins his usual spiel of pretending to sob even harder]

[Lo] “... What do you want? You want SOMETHING, right? That’s why humans do this shit, because they want something, they want to hold it over another person’s head and fucking torture them because of…what…? Do we not pay you enough? Do we not love you enough?”

[N] “Whatever we’ve done, we have an eternity to fix it, love… Please, just, put the clipboard down and let’s talk about this over some nice sushi, OK? We’ll order in way more than our entire staff can eat and then give the rest to hungry people. You like that shit, right?”

[You glare at him, rubbing the bridge of your nose]

[...]

[Lo] “...you don’t like what we’re doing to people.”

[O] “Mana, you know all it does… is make them tired. Their emotions keep us sated, t-they keep us alive. Do you want us to starve to death?”

[Pause]

[Lo, with a scoff] “You just want us to be more considerate of them? Tch, why? They’re our food. Their emotions, anyway. Isn’t that better than us going the old-school vamp route and tearing their necks out? Ugh, it’d be such a nasty cleanup…”

[N] “Yeah. Plus humans really do begin to stink when they rot, eugh. So inconvenient.”

[Pause!]

[Li] “Whoa whoa whoa! Mana, easy! Why are you getting so upset?”

[N] “Liam… Mana is human.”

[Li] “Pfft, I know that. What does that have to do with anything?”

[Lo] “We’re talking about their species like they’re beneath us, Liam.”

[Li] “Oh… but, they kind of are? OW! Damnit, Noah, your punches fucking hurt!”

[O] “S-Stop upsetting Mana, y-you butt! Just because humans are like bugs d-doesn’t mean we can’t respect them! L-Like… like that moth over there! That moth that… um… just flew into a light and died, OK! B-But you see what I mean… Right, Mana?”

[...]

[The boys grow quiet, each of them looking to the others for answers]

[Lo] “...How can we say we really love you if we think so poorly of your humanity…? I…”

[O] “W-We don’t mean it like that, we just… Y-You’re one of the good ones!”

[N, hissing through his teeth] “Oliver… You just made it a million times worse.”

[O] “I-I did?!”

[Li] “You know we love you for real, right? We even stopped feeding off of you because we love you so much and you were already so tired from doing so much.”

[?!?!]

[Li] “...oh right we never told you that we were feeding on you in the first place…”

[Lo] “Um…”

[N] “Fuck.”

[Oli sobs harder as you gently push your way through them and hand off your clipboard to your soon-to-be stand-in]

[Li] “Wait! Wait, please!”

[He runs after you and grasps your hand]

[Li] “J-Just… give me your hand for a moment and let me kneel. There we go… Listen to me, please. My brothers and I have been alive a long, long time, and you’re one of the few people we’ve ever trusted this much, that we’ve ever felt like we’d die without! We can be better… Just tell us what you need from us, OK?”

[Pause]

[He looks up at you, taken aback]

[Li] “We… promised the same last time? I don’t… I don’t remember…”

[Pause]

[Li] “And today is… your birth…day… I, ah…”

[You tug your hand free from him gently and head on your way as he gawps]

[Li] “Wait!”

[But you don’t. You take your leave, trying to ignore the immensely woozy fans trying to catch their breath as you get in your rental car and head out towards the unknown]
