I've been meaning to do M4F for a while so here ya go. Also bonus points if you can find the Bob Dylan lyric I hid inside this one. I never really liked this fairy tale. I always wondered what happened to the enchantress and why the beast needed somebody else to help redeem them. So I threw in a bit of a twist. As always monetization and modification is all good (by modification I mean feel free to play with the genders or change up the dialogue so it goes better with your voice. As long as the main theme is intact). Feel free to leave some feedback if you like as well.

Listener wakes up in a small shelter in the middle of the woods after losing consciousness. They are met by the speaker, a messed up beast dude. The speaker is soft spoken and kind. He used to be a cruel ruler but after he was cursed by an enchantress he’s become a penitent person. Unbeknownst to him the woman he rescued from the snow is the same enchantress that cursed him all those years ago. Is she here to free him? Or finally finish the job?

Warm cabin ambiance

Listener comes to

Hey. I’m glad to see you’re ok. You looked pretty beat up out there.

Listener freaks out and lurches up

Woah hey settle down! I know I look scary but I promise I’m not going to hurt you.

In any case you shouldn't try to sit up so fast.

Listener gets queasy

See, you're going to make yourself dizzy.

Lean back. Are you warm enough?

I’m sorry it's kinda cold here. I don't usually need to keep it so warm. On account of the fur and all.

Sardonic laughter

Here take this blanket. And have some of this soup, eating it will help you to regain your energy. I know you don't want to be here any longer than you have to. I’m sorry it's bitter, I made it out of some tree nuts I harvested. There's not much to eat here this time of the year.

Suddenly nervous

Oh shoot, are you allergic?

Oh thank god! I should have asked I’m sorry.

I’m sorry I don't have much to offer, I don't have many visitors and I don't need much. Most of what I can eat most people can't. I have some fish smoking outside, when it's ready I’ll give you some.

That's how I found you actually. Out on that frozen lake. I was ice fishing and came across you when I was heading back. What were you doing out there?

Listener begins to answer but the speaker cuts them off

No, don't answer that, that's none of my business.

Listener asks them if they eat the fish

Do I eat fish?

Not often. Like I said I can usually eat plants around the forest most people can't. The fish is for the village nearby. I take some food down there when I can. I give it to the priest and he distributes it.

When I started this he was a young man, now not so much.

Honestly it's literally the least I can do

I’m a kind beast eh?

Thank you. I wasn't always like this.

A beast?

No, kind.

Laughs

No, I wasn't always a beast either. I used to be the prince in charge of that town.

That's prince in the classical sense, as in ruler. Like in that Machiavelli book.

I wasn't a particularly good ruler either. I was cruel and tyrannical. Always looking for a slight to punish. I robbed from the poor and gave to the rich. Wasted lives on pointless wars. Stole farm land and used it for hunting. I would have destroyed the place eventually.

Then one day this old lady came to my fortress looking for some shelter. She was dressed in rags and barefoot. Soft-spoken and sad. No threat to anyone. Any decent man would have taken pity on her. Taken off their cloak and wrapped it around her shoulders. Given her the seat of honor at the table.

Of course me being me I didn't react like most men.

I beat the crap out of her and left her bleeding in the snow.

I had all of that power and I couldn't spare a moment of kindness. I was insulted to even be asked. I deserved what came next. I deserved it like you wouldn't believe.

Then she dropped her disguise and became a beautiful enchantress.

I turned around and she was standing there

Silver bracelets on her wrists and flowers in her hair

She told me that I didn't deserve to be a prince if I couldn’t care for the weakest of my subjects. And I didn't deserve to be human at all if I was going to treat people like that

So she lifted her hand

And she made me into this

I fled out here that very night. I found this place and hid here

I was angry for a long time. I used to spend all day raging and screaming. Tearing my hair and punching trees until my hands bled.

I couldn't handle it, but over time I have come to accept the punishment.

I realized that she had just made me into what I already was. A monster among men.

A beast

That was a long time ago. I barely remember the man I was. In some ways I’m not him anymore

But I am

I need to take responsibility for my actions

It's why I try to bring food down to the village when I can.

It's not much but it's more good than I ever did as a ruler. I just wish I could do more. There's a sickness going around down there. I know some healing stuff but I can't do anything like that. Not that I have a very good bedside manner anyways. On account of the horns and all.

Laughs

That's who you reminded me of by the way. Now that I get a good look at you. You're the spitting image of that enchantress. Just older and dressed down a bit.

Listener reveals their true identity

Magic sounds

Oh?

I guess that makes sense then. You are her.

It's been a long time ma’am. You're as beautiful as ever. The sad eyed executioner.

Why did you come back here?

Are you going to put me out of my misery? Turn me into fungus? Remove my human mind? Incinerate me?

Look whatever you do, I know I deserve it, people like me shouldn't have second chances. Just do it.

The listener takes the blanket and wraps it around them

The Blanket? What are you doing? Why are you wrapping me in it? What's going on? I feel so warm.

Magic sounds

I’m a human again?

Why?

I learned my lesson?

It was a lesson I shouldn't have had to be taught! I deserved what you did.

Listener scolds them speaker gets apologetic.

No, I'm so sorry I shouldn't question you. What am I to do now? What can I do with a second chance?

I can't go back there. They wouldn't have me and I don't deserve to be a prince again. Besides I think my old principality is part of a republic now. They're better without a man like me.

God it's cold in here, you must have been freezing.

Wait, you need a companion?

You’re an enchantress, what could you possibly need from somebody?

The listener explains that they are lonely.

You… You’re lonely?

No, I’m sorry I should stop questioning you. You have the right to ask of me what you will.

Why me though? You saw what manner of man I am.

You think I’ve changed? I have but that doesn't take away what I did. What If I become like that again?

You’d…. You’d stop me right? You can keep me under control. You promise me you’ll do that ok?
