Well then if you are content, I would ask you to take me to your realm, so that we may converse. At least, the texts said you’d prefer to speak there, but I’ll gladly bargain anywhere Great One.

Splendid! I’m so glad you are more merciful than the texts described you! I know I must travel in your paw. I promise to show no fear, and trust you won’t crush me!

*listener obliges*

I am secure, Beholder. I know it is not my place to ask, but, will you please stride slowly? I am much smaller than you and the light breeze you create is detrimental to me. If you do not wish to humor me, that’s fine! I do not want to besmirch the kindness you’ve shown us!

Wow, everything they said was true! The air is different here! It’s drier and… the pheromones, or rather, the lack thereof is incredible!

My people have many a hurdle. We always do, yet we prosper. But now, it is too much. Most of our eggs have been rendered infertile. Likely due to the lack of food. And we lack food because the harvest has failed. The harvest failed because the rains stopped. The rains stopped because the days have been hotter. To hot for most of our workers to survive. Especially when they don’t have food or water. With no workers, we can’t gather food, or even attempt to replant our harvest. This means the food supply will continue to dwindle, and the eggs will continue to die. We are falling and we cannot stop ourselves, so we have turned to you!

*small pause*

We know you’re capable of much, Thunderer. We would beg you to do anything to help us! And in return, we will do anything for you! We know we cannot offer you much, but we are willing to give up anything! We would bleed ourselves dry for a chance to survive!

*small pause*

We beseech you, Great One! The colony and myself. I am ready to make the ultimate sacrifice should it please you. So will you extend your mercy once more and allow your grace to shine upon us?

*listener agrees*

You will? Truly?! Thank you, thank you, thank you, Almighty! I do not mean to doubt you but, what do you plan to do? I simply wish to know so that I may sing your praises with the utmost accuracy!

You will give us food, that we may recover? I do not know where you will get food from, but I do not care! I’m sure your bounty of mana will be beyond our wildest dreams!

I don’t know what to say! With food and rain, we will be prosperous! The rain will lower the temperature, and the food will aid the eggs. With something so small for you, you have solved all of our problems and saved our people! How can we repay you?

Yes, I can stop crying, Great One. They were tears of joy, but I will gladly quell them if it pleases you!

(deep breathes)

Is there anything else we can do? You must simply name it, and it will be yours!

*listener states*

Of course! If you wish us to stay out of your domain, then it is done! I will tell the Queen and she will surely make a royal decree! All our larva will be taught that your plane is off-limits! You will never see another of us here again if that’s what you wish! Is there anything else?

*listener speaks*

That is all? You would solve our problems and all you request is privacy within your hive? Your generosity is boundless, Great One! We will cherish these acts for ten thousand days!

*small pause*

You have already done plenty for us, so I will not demand you return me. I can venture alone, or simply accept death by your hands! We owe you our lives, so you can gladly take them!

Really? You would show us this compassion and then return me to my mound? There are no words to describe what you are! You are beyond our speech! Thank you!

Wow, I didn’t realize how accustomed I became to the environment of your plane. I see why some who enter go mad with bliss!

You deliver me to my mound, unscathed? Are you… are you the creator? The texts said you were two different entities, but I could not imagine you being this kind towards creatures that you did not spawn!
