Oh, come on, don't make that face. We used to have fun times here. The Hollow Grove is one of the best bars in this realm. If I remember, you and Caden even got together . . . oh, damn. I'm sorry. I didn't think.

Look, I understand that things with you and Caden are . . . difficult right now, but once we find him, you can head back.

Figured we could talk to [Bartender VA Name]. As the bartender he always knows what's going on.

Of course I have it. This isn't my first time. Have a little faith.

[Witch] Two--

[Bartender] Nu-uh.

[Witch] Excuse me?

[Bartender] I don't serve to people who break my bar.

[Witch] Oh come on, that was an accident!

[Bartender] You accidentally set a patron on fire and caused a roof collapse?

[Witch] . . . I may have had a bit too much.

[Bartender] Get out of my bar.

[Witch] Wait, we're looking for someone.

[Bartender] I don't know anything.

[gold coins hitting counter]

[Witch] Perhaps this will jog your memory?

[Bartender] Who you looking for?

[Witch] Artifact hunter, goes by the name of Caden. Last I heard, he was tracking something.

[Bartender] Cocky bastard. Yeah, he was in here.

[Witch] What was he after?

[Bartender] Cursed jewel.

[Witch] Which cursed jewel?

[Bartender] How would I know?

[hand slamming down on the bar]

[Witch] Look, I may be willing to put up with this song and dance but my friend, well, she has a temper.

[Bartender] So?

[Witch] So, you thought what I did was bad? She's a higher level magic user than me.

[magic sound]

[Bartender] All right, all right! Guy said he was going after the jewel of Carabosse.

[Witch] And he said where?

[Bartender] I don't know. Guy had a drink and then left. Not the most talkative fellow.

[Witch] But you're sure it was the jewel of Carabosse?

[Bartender] Yes. Now, would you please get the hell out of my bar?

[Witch] As you wish.

[footsteps]

[door opening to outside]

Carabosse? What the hell is Carabosse?

Well, excuse me for not paying more attention in my history lessons. Not everyone cares about lore and theory like you do. Who is Carabosse?

Wait . . . the evil fairy, like Maleficent?

I'm fully aware it's a Disney film, thank you very much, but you're saying Carabosse was the real version of Maleficent, a wicked fairy?

Okay. So, why would Caden go after that?

He said he wasn't doing that anymore. The risks were too high.

I'm aware the pay is too, but would he really risk himself to get some rich client this jewel?

. . . how much is it worth?

Well, damn. For that price, I'd go after it too. What does the jewel do? Why is it a cursed artifact?

Touching it will send you into a deadly sleep? How . . . quaint.

Look, how do you know so much about this? Artifacts were never your deal. You're more of the tactician. Or at least you were--

No, I suppose it doesn't matter. You made your choice, after all. Escaping to the human realm.

Hmmmm? Why would you think I'd be bitter? I mean, my best friend just up and leaves with no note, no final farewell, just nothing. Then, she proceeds to stay in the mortal realm, pretending to be something she's not all because--

[magic sound]

All right. Easy.

Look, you wouldn't happen to know where this cursed artifact could be found?

I was afraid you'd say that.

No, I just hate the enchanted forest. I never understood the appeal of a place where animals could talk and fairies roamed freely. Too many people are taken in by its appeal. They don't realize what dangers lurk inside.

Well, what do you say? Shall we head off?
