Summary: In the aftermath of a rescue mission and recovered memories, the vampire and her lover come to a mutual understanding.

[VA] We're safe?

[Witch] Yes.

[VA] Where is she?

[Witch] Easy! You lost a lot of blood.

[VA] Is she okay?

[Witch] She hasn't woken up yet.

[sheets being tossed aside]

[Witch] What part of easy do you not understand! You need to rest and recover.

[VA] What I need is to see her. I can't believe I forgot and she was rotting in that--

[Witch] She wanted you safe. Please, just try to calm down. I don't want you to hurt yourself--

[door opens]

[Witch] Well, it seems I have two bad patients on my hands.

[VA] Hey. Are you okay?

[Witch] Sit down. I'll give you two some time.

[door closes]

Are you okay? You look like shit.

Look, if anyone should be upset here, it's me. I mean, you enchanted me. You made forget about you and what we had.

I don't care if you were protecting me! I didn't want your protection. I just wanted you.

What?

No. I don't want that. I want you. Fangs and all.

[laughing] Oh come on, it's a little funny.

So, level with me: what happened? What was that lab? What happened to the guy with the crossbow?

Experimenting on you? Trying to come up with better weapons to use against vampires?

Fuck. I'm sorry. You were there for too long. I should've--

[kiss]

Yeah. I'm glad it's over too. But, listen, I don't want you to enchant me again.

No. I want this. With you. Good or bad. I don't know how many more times I can tell you. I love you, you dummy.

Yeah. You kind of are sometimes.

This? It will heal.

I'd feel better if you would do something for me though.

[patting bed]

I'm afraid that if I close my eyes you'll vanish again. So, lay down.

You won't hurt me. Just lay down.

Please?

[sheets rustling]

There we go. Comfy?

Tell me something: why did you come for me that night?

You know what night. Why did you come when you knew it was a trap?

No, I didn't doubt it. It's just nice to hear it.

My feelings haven't changed.

Yeah I do mean it. You're stuck with me.

If you're tired, sleep. There are still things to work out, but we can deal with it in the morning. Your witch friend is still here so I'm sure we can figure something out.

I can be so positive because I have faith. Faith in us. And I can have enough faith for the both of us right now.

[kiss]

I'm glad. For a minute I thought maybe you really did want me gone.

Yeah, well, how about you let me decide what I can handle, okay?

Well, tell you what: I'll lay off being so protective if you stop trying to keep things from me. If we want this to work, we need to be honest. 100%. So, what do you say?
